Frost Brown Todd and the University of Louisville Welcome Vickie Yates Brown

Attorney becomes the newest member of Frost Brown Todd and Special Assistant to University of Louisville President James Ramsey.

February 8, 2008, Louisville, KY – Frost Brown Todd is pleased to welcome Vickie Yates Brown as a Member of the Firm and Co-Chair of its Health Law Practice Group. Ms. Brown concentrates her practice in health care, health insurance law, informatics, government affairs and mediation.  A leading healthcare attorney for close to three decades, she has been an influential member of Louisville’s healthcare and legal communities and was recently elected as the Chair-elect of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section. The Section has over 10,000 prominent healthcare lawyers from across the nation.

Ms. Brown will also serve as President and CEO of the Louisville Medical Center Development Corporation and Special Assistant to University of Louisville President James Ramsey. She will head the development of the $2.5 billion Louisville Health and Life Science Research Park downtown.  Her primary focus will be implementing and developing the $300 million tax increment financing district recently created to finance the research park, which will be located at the UofL Health Sciences Campus and the former Haymarket block. Brown has long been an integral part of the leadership team working on the project. She spearheaded efforts to develop the plan and gain approval of the tax increment financing district for the last two years as a consultant with UofL. 

“Vickie has been the quarterback on this project from the start. She’s gotten us to this point and she is the right person to take it from here,” Ramsey said. “We’re excited to have her on board to bring the Health and Life Science Research Park project to fruition.”
