June 16, 2008 (Charleston, WV) – Frost Brown Todd LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda J. Davis to Senior Associate. Located in the Charleston office, Ms. Davis has been with the Firm since June of 2007 as a Staff Attorney.
Formerly, Ms. Davis served as a Senior Associate at the firm of McQueen & Murphy, L.C., in Charleston, WV. In May 2003, she received a Juris Doctorate and Certificate of Concentration in Juvenile and Family Law from Capital University Law School. While attending law school, she was a legal assistant at a private law firm and assisted disabled clients from Ohio and Northern West Virginia in obtaining disability income benefits and supplemental security income. Ms. Davis graduated from West Virginia State College [now West Virginia State University] in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While obtaining her undergraduate education, Ms. Davis worked as a clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia. There, she assisted attorneys and paralegals in trial preparation for several major cases including the prosecutions in the Keystone National Bank failure case. She assisted with both civil and criminal cases.
While attending law school, Ms. Davis was involved in many volunteer projects providing food to local food pantries, gathering school supplies for inner-city schools, donating clothing to shelters for battered and abused women and children, and providing clothing for the homeless. Ms. Davis also volunteered at the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. As a volunteer for the foundation, she reviewed and summarized the decisions of courts throughout the United States on Family Law issues.
