Jeff has tried cases and handled appeals in numerous courts, focusing on commercial litigation and product liability claims.  He also has arbitrated and mediated many cases.

Jeff has experience representing clients in large, complex cases.  As a special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, he has been involved with the civil prosecution of claims related to the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation’s investment in two Coin Funds and fraud claims against former manager Tom Noe.  He has also represented the Coin Funds in many litigation and liquidation matters.  The Coin Funds series of cases have been the subject of intensive media coverage in Ohio.

In a case involving the sale of a business and possible theft of computer code, Jeff successfully argued against the issuance of an injunction for claims under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act based on an unauthorized scan.  In the same case, Jeff also litigated a theft of computer code claim, which ultimately led to a favorable settlement.

In an insurance dispute involving multiple cases stemming from a fire at a manufacturing facility, Jeff negotiated a complex settlement agreement that allowed the insurer to appeal an initial adverse ruling by the trial court.  On appeal, the decision was reversed and summary judgment was granted to the client.  The related litigation then was resolved on favorable terms.

Jeff also has experience with tobacco litigation on behalf of a leading manufacturer.  Additionally, he has successfully litigated conspiracy claims against a local and international labor union.
