Erika is an Associate in the Litigation Department. She represents commercial clients in a wide array of litigation matters. Erika graduated with honors from the College of Wooster with an English degree and a concentration in Urban studies. In Spring of 2004, she graduated from the Michael Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University. During law school, Erika worked for the Ohio State Civil Clinic, interned for the Ohio State Defense Clinic and the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, mediated at the Franklin County Municipal Court, interned at the Ohio State Legislature and volunteered for the Ohio State Supreme Court Mediation Section.
Since joining Frost Brown Todd, Erika has been actively involved in products liability, bad faith insurance, real estate/zoning, and complex commercial litigation. She has taken over fifteen depositions, including multiple Rule 30(b) corporate designation depositions. Erika also has extensive brief drafting experience. For example, she recently drafted appellate briefs that successfully overturned the lower court’s decision and granted a client’s motion for summary judgment. Erika has also argued before the 10th District Appellate Court and handled multiple hearings before Ohio courts. Erika has worked for clients on various state and local zoning issues. She has successfully litigated real estate based suits, including lease disputes, purchase disputes, foreclosures and commercial vendor disputes. Erika recently has been expanding her products liability experience, focusing on issues involving juvenile products and imported products.
Erika is also involved in the Therapy Dog International program and invested over 100 hours on pro bono cases last year. Erika is a member of the Firm’s Women’s Initiative Committee. Erika is an active member of the Ohio Chapter of the MS Society and Columbus Children's Hospital Board.
